Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson has insisted she is an African-American because her father always told her she was.
In a revealing interview, she opened up on speculation the King of Pop was not her biological father and how he told her to be proud of her roots.
The 19-year-old said most people call her white and her looks resemble those of a Finnish girl, but she said, ‘I consider myself black’.
Over the course of his career, Paris’s dad, Michael Jackson was able to change his skin pigmentation to a very pale white, through a multitude of surgeries, to resemble white.
Paris told Rolling Stone Magazine her dad would look at her, point his finger at her and say, ‘You’re black. Be proud of your roots’.
‘I’d be like, ‘OK, he’s my dad, why would he lie to me?’
‘So I just believe what he told me. Cause, to my knowledge, he’s never lied to me.
‘Most people that don’t know me call me white. I’ve got light skin and, especially since I’ve had my hair blond, I look like I was born in Finland or something.’
But she insisted she had seen mixed-race children that resemble her complexion – pointing out TV actor Wentworth Miller who has a black father and a white mom.
