Dino Melaye reacts to police comment on his purported kidnap
The senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district and member of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Dino Melaye has responded to claims by the Nigerian Police that they never received any reports concerning his purported abduction.
Senator Ben Murray Bruce had Yesterday raised alarm of how gunmen allegedly had the lawmaker abducted in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the chairman of Silverbird grops, Dino’s younger brother Moses Melaye called to inform him of the incident which occurred whilst the lawmaker was on his way to court for his gun-running trial.
In response to the purported abduction, the Nigerian Police in a statement signed by A.g. DCP Jimoh Moshood said it did not receive any report in any state of the federation as regards Dino being kidnapped but has however commenced investigations on the matter.
Reacting to the statement by the Police, Senator Dino Melaye took to Twitter to berate the Nigerian Police Force saying he is appalled.
The senator also shared a photo of the statement made by his younger brother, Mr Moses Melaye, upon reaching the police station.
“ One is appalled that police will deny the reportage of my attack by my brother yesterday morning. This is the statement of my brother” he wrote via Twitter
Senator Melaye shared the above tweet hours after he announced of his release from his alleged abductors, telling of how he spent 11 hours at their hands but God in his infinite mercies preserved him.
” I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom only i trust . They will continue to try. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!! “ he wrote via Twitter.
